- Cutting cheese into shapes for his school snack means I Love You way more than a note from me.
- He can spend eternity playing with rocks, sand, cut grass, leaves, dirt, and water. At a birthday party we went to recently he spent a little while playing with toys and the other kids, and then just played with the little gravel rocks they had in the garden area for about an hour. At first I was a little embarrassed and thought I should force him to play, but then I realized, nope, he's happy. That's what matters.
- He can write numbers on paper for hours on end.
- When he was non verbal he used to point to license plates and make us read them. On every single car we passed.
- His memory is beyond amazing, He remembers things from when he was only 2. I mean concrete memories. The other day he told me what level we parked in at a parking garage at the Aquarium 5 weeks ago.
- He knows the numbers to anyone's house we have ever been to, and to everyone on our street
- He recites lines from shows all the time. For an entire week it was, "Holy Rings of Salad (really it was Saturn, but he didn't get that, from Wow, Wow, Wubbzy. One of my favorites was, "The suspense is killing me" from the Wonder Pets.
- He's been doing shape sorters and puzzles since he was 6 months old.
- If you try to do any form of pretend play he will look at you like you are crazy. He just does not get it. He is way too literal. However, the other day, after pushing and pushing I got him to do a small Wonder Pets scene with me using blocks and his figurines.
There is so much more to say, but that's good for now. My sister constantly tells me to write these things down so we don't forget. So here you go. I hope to add onto this list as time goes on.
Quirky, yes.
Smart, yes.
Frustrating, yes.
The love of my life, absolutely.
