Not only doing the daily grind: therapy, behavior issues, battling OCD issues every 5 minutes, dealing with sensory problems, etc. but the research and finding the best way to do everything!
If you really take a look at what is out there in the way of Autism research, be prepared. It is great that we have come a long way. I love having so much information and choices, but it is very time consuming. Trying to figure out what is best, and what is best specifically for Jaylen is a lot of work.
- What is/are the best forms of therapy?
- What will insurance pay for? (and then do the hours of calls and paper work to get it!)
- How can we get extra funding? (SSI, medicaid, etc. and then once again hours of work to find it and get it)
- What diet is best? (GF, CF, other allergies? get panels done, after figuring out how to get them paid for, then try to do the diet!!! can expensive and time consuming)
- Are there other biomedical interventions taht can help? (shots and supplements)
- Are his teachers doing enough?
